I didn't know what I was looking for, but this is exactly it.
If you're upper-intermediate or advanced in English but still feel like something's holding you back, a hesitation before you speak, a gap between who you are and how you come across you might be in the right place.
These aren't traditional lessons. They're conversation sessions: a space to connect in English, find your voice, and feel more like yourself.
WHAT IT'S LIKE
A session with me
Every session is built around you your interests, your work, your world. There are no grammar drills, no textbooks, no pressure to be perfect. Just a real conversation in English, with gentle feedback woven in so naturally you barely notice it.
You'll come away having said things you didn't know you could say. Over time, you'll stop second-guessing yourself and start speaking with the confidence you already have in your own language.
As one student put it: "I was afraid of myself before, but nowadays I do not."
WHO IS THIS FOR?
You might be the right fit if...
You're a curious, open-minded person with a real interest in ideas. You don't just want to practise English — you want to connect in it. You're ready to grow, and you're looking for someone to be in your corner while you do.
Jo works with upper-intermediate to advanced adult learners, one-to-one, online.

ABOUT ME
The person on the other side of the screen
I studied modern languages at university, then spent years working in mental health before finding my way into English teaching. That combination — language, listening, and a genuine interest in how people think and feel — shapes everything about how I work.
I'm based just outside London, I'm a mother of two almost-grown-up children, and I walk a dog called Milo more than I probably should. I'm a lifelong learner myself — currently studying Mandarin — and I believe the best conversations happen when both people are genuinely curious.
My students tend to be thoughtful people who want more than grammar practice. They want to feel articulate, confident, and like themselves in English. If that sounds like you, you're probably in the right place.
